Great advice Adam, relating to prospects on a personal level is certainly a good way to build a rapport and hopefully aid a sale! Came across some fantastic videos over at Meet the Boss TV that might be of interest to you, they provide some really great sales advice that could benefit anyone in the industry! http://bit.ly/bxFtEH

The phrase “So, who else, besides yourself, will be involved in the decision making process?” is great. It respects & involves the contact and gives them an opportunity to identify other decision makers without feeling used.

Adam: I was actually treated in a similar fashion a few years ago when I was purchasing a car. Needless to say, I didn't buy from the dealer who kept asking questions about my husband.

The day of the formal prospecting emails I think are over. Folks want a conversational tone and something valuable from every piece of content they consume with a reasonable call to action. To your point the corp speak gobblygook is over, if you can't create a meaningful call to action which appeals to a need, then it's wasted keystrokes and the delete button for you. Thanks for the post adam, hope all is well.
